The project is to cover comprehensive, deep thermal modernization of 9 public buildings (namely, Nurseries No. 2, 3 and 4, Public Kindergartens No. 1, 9, 18, 20, 27, 30). The scope of works to be carried out in the aforementioned facilities is to include modernization of the heating system, insulation concerning ceilings, roofs, external walls and foundations, replacement of windows as well as door woodwork. Photovoltaic panels and energy-saving lighting devices were installed in all aforementioned buildings whereas heat pumps were installed in selected buildings.
The project includes activities aimed at implementing the postulates concerning low-emission strategies. It results from the Low-emission Economy Program established for the City of Kalisz. Its direct objective is to improve the quality of air in the City by encouraging energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy resources as regards public infrastructure. The main result and dimension of the achieved objective is to reduce the amount of energy consumed during the ongoing operations taking place in buildings – the results are to constitute measurable economic benefits and the ecological ones as well (reduced emissions of harmful gases and dust into the atmosphere).
