Project description:

The project consisted of realisation of various forms of information and education activities connected to proper municipal waste management in the area managed by Inter-Communal Association “Pilski Region Gospodarki Odpadami Komunalnymi” (“Pilski Region of Communal Waste Management). The aforementioned activities were addressed to all age groups, namely children, teenagers and adults in the area where the Association operates. The objective of this project was to strengthen the mechanisms of biodiversity protection in the communes covered by PRGOK Association by increasing the pro-ecological awareness and knowledge of the society and shaping appropriate attitudes and behaviours connected to municipal waste management. Information and education activities were realised by preparing printed materials (information leaflets), audiovisual materials (spots on local TV) information and educational boards, an e-learning platform was established, meetings at schools, green lessons at PSZOK (outdoor educational paths) were organized, nature lessons, art contests, patronage classes took place. Moreover, one organized trainings in village councils addressed to adults and trainings for didactic and technical staff in education centres in the area covered by the Association’s activity. The containers for waste segregation and crushers for cans and plastic bottles were placed in the corridors of over 150 schools, kindergartens and nurseries in fourteen municipalities belonging to ZM “PRGOK”. Composters have been placed in the squares next to educational institutions. Moreover, teachers have special bags at their disposal. These bags will be used, among others, to teach the principles of proper waste segregation.
