The aim of the reconstruction and expansion of the Oskard Cultural Centre was to create modern infrastructure that meets the standards set for cultural institutions in terms of functionality and accessibility. The works planned as part of the project were related to the expansion and adaptation of the facility to the requirements of the currently applicable cultural functions, as well as the adaptation of the surroundings around the building to cultural needs. As part of the project, two additional rooms were created: a connoisseur cinema for 50 people and a club café for 150 people. The facility was fitted with very modern equipment, i.e.: stage mechanics, lighting and sound system. The connoisseur cinema was equipped with a modern digital projector, it provides very good quality of films. A new multifunctional room for workshops, meetings, conferences, exhibitions was also created.
The facility has been adapted to the needs of people with disabilities - a goods and passenger lift has been installed in the backstage area, it allows disabled artists to reach the stage, toilets have been adapted, and a ramp has been installed. What is more, the facility has been equipped with a digital board, audio description system and induction loop both in the connoisseur cinema and in the main hall, where the entire first row is removable, which means that we can allocate the space for people in wheelchairs. The reconstructed facility is fully monitored. 54 parking spaces have been created around it, including spaces for people with disabilities. The space around the building has been tidied up and developed, trees and ornamental grass have been planted.
